NEW COKER TIRES As one of the final expressions of Bill Mitchells
time as head of GMs styling studios, a position he held since he
was Harley Earls handpicked successor in 1958, the final big
Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado of the 1970s never fails to draw
admirers today. Continuing the basic styling theme introduced for
1971 but updated with blade-type front fenders, quad rectangular
headlamps, and other revisions, the Eldorado was a huge sales
success and stands as a landmark of GM design. Given its
top-of-the-line stature, the Eldorados mechanical specifications
were sophisticated, including a high-torque Cadillac V-8 engine 425
CI for 1977-78, front-wheel drive (introduced for 1967), 4-wheel
disc brakes. Luxury features were many and most were standard.
Priced more than $11,000 when new, the 1978 Eldorado truly marks
the end of an era for American automobiles, which were rapidly
downsized at the time. This 1978 Cadillac Eldorado coupe is a very
attractive example from the last model year for these American
icons. It was ordered in Virginia by the original owner in December
1977 with a long list of features and options specified, including
Columbia Blue paint, a white vinyl rear roof covering, Light Blue
leather upholstery, air conditioning, and much more. As offered for
sale, the Eldorado is a highly attractive, original car that
retains nearly all of its factory-original paint finish and
interior. Recent attention includes a major service, chassis
alignment, and installation of a new set of correct style Coker
tires. Documents are excellent and include the original buyers
order form completed at the selling dealer, the original Cadillac
window sticker, and a copy of the original title, plus the
factory-issued owners manual, and warranty and consumer information
booklets. Offered in highly attractive condition, this 1978
Cadillac Eldorado is an enjoyable example of the last full-size
models. Call us today to see it for yourself and get ready for
touring enjoyment!
