Vehicle Description
The 1970 Buick GS represents the pinnacle of Buick performance
during the muscle car era. Once General Motors lifted the ban on
greater than 400 cubic inch displacement engines in mid-sized
models Buick was quick to build a 455 cubic inch motor for the Gran
Sport line.
This 1970 Buick GS 455 Convertible has been well maintained and
upgraded, as necessary. This GS is finished in its correct color
scheme of Silver Mist Metallic exterior with a black vinyl interior
and black cloth power top.
Although not a number's matching motor, the motor was rebuilt in
2016 with a correct 455 cubic inch motor as identified by the
casting #1231738.
This 1970 Buick GS 455 has such features as upgraded Wilwood
4-wheel power disc brakes with hydro boost, power steering and
power convertible top. The top is free of any imperfections and
operates effortlessly.
The black interior shows well with newer carpets and dash gauge
cluster. The full-length center console with woodgrain houses the
horseshoe shifter which is mated to a TH400 automatic
transmission.
The underside floors and frame of this Buick GS 455 are very solid
with no areas of corrosion shown.
Pump the gas turn the key and you awaken the giant under the hood.
This smooth-running powerful motor with endless torque sends this
Buick down the road without effort. With the upgraded braking
system, it will come to a halt just as quick.
This 1970 GS 400 Convertible should not be desired by just a Buick
enthusiast but by any true muscle car enthusiast.
