Vehicle Description
Here is a really stunning looking Rolls-Royce Silver Spur finished
in not often seen Exeter Blue (non-metallic) with Magnolia (light
tan) leather interior with navy blue piping on the seats. The twin
fine lines to the waist-rails are hand-painted in cream to match
the interior. The Exeter blue takes on a dramatic effect in strong
sunlight but in evening and subdued light, transforms to a very
formal quasi black hue. Very nice indeed. The Rolls-Royce Silver
Spur is powered by a 6.75 litre Rolls-Royce designed and built V8
engine with the Bosch fuel injection system which provides ultra
smooth touring. The Silver Spur has the uniqueness of being 4"
longer providing more rear seat passenger space. It also has the
rear seat picnic tables. This example is very original in every
detail - with the exception of an aftermarket radio installed
(which can easily be changed back to factory if so desired). This
one is a very clean example from Texas its whole life. She was
regularly maintained by an elderly gentleman who used it for his
personal transport (Chauffered) on a regular basis. It has recently
been thru Park-Ward's workshop and anything requiring doing was
attended to including all the hydraulics and braking system
inspected and overhauled as required (pumps, accumulators, gas
springs, etc). Mechanically, this car needs nothing. Under the
bonnet, the presentation is very clean. It has not been precision
detailed but simply kept clean and tidy throughout its life.
Mileage is 124,000 but one needs not to be put-off by this given
its regular and attentive maintenance. The car sports a near new
set of Hankook whitewall tyres on original Rolls-Royce steel wheels
with stainless steel hub caps. The body of the car is straight and
the paint deep in lustre and consistency. It was repainted some 10
years ago in its original colour. It does have some minor blemishes
and marks but these are few and only show if one looks hard.
Otherwise it is very shiny without any fading, dents or dings.
There is an indentation at the right rear door handle and we are
happy to repair this for the new owner. Rubbers, mouldings, badges
and external fittings are all in good condition. The interior on
this car is very nice and original in presentation. The leather
shows beautifully with the contrasting dark blue piping. The front
seat cushions have been reupholstered at some stage and were done
extremely well to be virtually undetectable. They are super supple
and soft. All the interior wood was redone by Park-Ward and
presents stunningly without a single blemish or flaw. Normally they
develop small hairline cracks in the clear lacquer - there is none
of this and so the wood is rich in gloss and flat-smooth like
glass. Carpets, seats, dash, rear parcel shelf, fixtures and
fittings are truly excellent and I best encourage you to look at
all the photos to fully appreciate how nicely the interior
presents. Other factory fitted features to the car are nicely
contrasting lambswool floor rugs in dark blue which look and feel
divine. As part of Park-Ward's maintenance program, all major
electricals and features & functions have been inspected so
everything is operating as it should; windows, mirrors, A/C,
heater, lights, wipers, etc. This is a true, "take the keys and
drive" example with no additional budget needed to attend to any
nuances or gremlins. It is tight to drive, brakes strong and rides
as a Rolls-Royce should. The car is of very high standard and is an
easy 10 out of 10 driver rating. She is a very pretty example of
the early Spur model with few, in this fine condition, remaining
these days.
