WP0AB0912FS121779: Displaying just 22,850 documented miles to date,
this particular 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera is quite possibly one of
the finest original G-body Carreras we have ever come across.
Thanks to thoughtful stewardship and limited use, the immaculate
level of correctness and preservation extends to nearly every
component of this Porsche.
Paint Meter Readings are consistent throughout (see chart &
photos). All gaps are laser straight with a spectacular glossy
finish. In addition, the exterior retains all matching etched
glass, supple original rubbers, lenses, emblems, seals, and
anodized window trim. Inside the jambs are the original affixed
identification and information decals (doors, underhood and rear),
along with factory paint pen markings and zinc coatings - which
coincides with similar markings and finishes visible throughout the
front luggage compartment, engine bay and undercarriage. The
undercarriage is as you might expect from an original and
unmodified car. The finishes and coatings continue down the
powertrain, suspension, and brakes.
The highly optioned cabin features All original upholstery,
exceptionally preserved leather upholstery, carpeting, dashboard
plastic adornments and speaker grills, instruments, knobs, vents
and switches. The cold air-conditioning, power windows, mirrors,
sunroof, and impossibly rare Blaupunkt Monterey SQR23 radio are all
in working order. The radio is accompanied by original manuals and
an SQR23 Acoustic Instructional cassette - a first for us.
Completing all-black accents (including the headliner) and
perfectly plush pile carpeting complete the handsomely kempt
interior. The front storage compartment shows further evidence of
untouched originality with smears of black enamel and glue with
important factory items in place, including correct spot-welds,
markings, and paper tags on the wiring harness - as well as the
original jack and 14/85 date-stamped space saver wheel. Additional
vintage OEM Porsche belts and tool kit in Porsche plastic sleeve
complement.
Under the rear deck, the matching engine and compartment are in
excellent order, benefiting from a recent extensive steam clean and
detail. The engine bay remains remarkably original and completely
stock, retaining original emissions equipment and air-conditioning
components properly in place. The engine finishes are preserved,
with correct clamps, hoses, and hardware - including surrounding
decals.
The Carrera benefits from a Summer 2020 inspection. This was
followed by a Porsche Classic Technical Inspection and Certificate
performed by Texas' only Porsche Classic Partner. Recent service
and parts invoices are compiled in a binder. It should be noted the
car was photographed on its factory original Goodyear tires! A
newer set of staggered tires (dated 2015) are included with the
sale.
Early 911s are delightful to drive, but an example of such
originality truly commands the respect of even modestly capable
drivers who quickly realize the performance once behind the wheel.
The gearbox is smooth and effortless, with excellent throttle
response, tight and responsive steering.
Importantly, in additional to its Porsche Certificate of
Authenticity and Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, this
Carrera Coupe is supported by its Original Window Sticker, ALL
Original Purchase Paperwork, Original VIN-Matched Manuals in vinyl
folio, and Key Sets. Truly a time-warp, impeccably preserved, low
mileage and complete example for the most discerning Porsche
collector and enthusiast alike.
