In the world of pony cars, there are plenty of classics that have a great street presence. And then there are cars, like this sweet Ford Mustang, that are wicked manifestations of high octane and pure adrenaline!
Completed by Unique Performance, under license by Shelby American. Like so many things modern-era Shelby, the story of Unique Performance builds is a bit of a convoluted tale. But, like so many things classic-era Shelby, that story is part of what makes the cars so cool and so collectible. Back in 2001, Shelby authorized the Dallas-area firm to build 400 GT500Es and 75 GT500E Super Snakes. Unfortunately, Unique Performance experienced major financial strain, and only 120 GT500Es made it out of the hole.
With excellent performance, youthful aesthetics, and a strict regimen of maintenance that's been guided by one meticulous owner, this Shelby could be considered a brilliant bundle of showroom-fresh aggression. Sporting a 427cid stroker all-aluminum Windsor engine, built by Keith Craft Racing. Fuel delivery is handled by a FAST programmable fuel injection system and DC&O individual throttle body intake manifold. Power is coupled to the wheels through a heavy-duty Tremec TKO 600 5-speed manual transmission with upgraded hydraulic clutch, down to the Currie built nodular 9" rear axle with 3.25 gears. A custom front coil-over suspension, full sub-frame chassis bracing and custom rear pushrod coil-over suspension.
Has a full set of Shelby signature Baer 13" front and 12" rear brakes. Shelby signature Auto Meter gauges, high back leather Shelby signature seats, 5-point racing harness, air conditioning and an upgraded stereo system appoint the interior adding to driving enjoyment.
The upgraded Be Cool radiator package keeps the high performance engine operating efficiently in the Florida heat and humidity, even with the air conditioning running. The vehicle is also equipped with an upgraded 22-gallon Rick's Hotrods stainless fuel cell for additional driving range. Glove box personally hand signed by Carroll Shelby.
