Cadillac models introduced for 1977, a significant sales increase
for 1978 was based on the shoulders of the Coupe and Sedan de
Ville. While positioned as Cadillacs entry-level models, the de
Ville models were fully equipped with luxury features and elegant
color combinations, delivering everything good in a Cadillac. A
high-torque, 425 CI Cadillac V-8 engine and automatic transmission
combination powered the de Ville with ease around town and on the
highway. Ride and road manners are still renowned by those
fortunate enough to have experienced these very fine luxury cars
when new, rivalling even Rolls-Royce. Cadillac models from the
1970s were cherished by their buyers when new and today, new
generations of collectors and enthusiasts are waking up to the
