1957 Willys Custom
Car History
If you are like me, I get tired of seeing and owning the same old
cars. Well, we have something here at Adventure Classics that you
can buy and take anywhere and you will not see another on and you
will be the center of attention explaing all the parts it took to
build it.
It is a total custom of a 1957 Willys Truck that has been combined
with a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo chassis with a small block Chevrolet engine
and 700R4 automatic transmission.
Willys Trucks are perhaps not nearly as well known as the
ubiquitous and familiar Jeep CJ or Station Wagon, but nevertheless,
Willys did produce this truck model and they are rare and not seen
too much.
Engine & Drivetrain
Ours has power from a 350 cubic inch small block Chevrolet engine
putting out over 300 horsepower with the engine mods consisting of
headers, aluminum intake, Holley carb with an electric choke,
chrome open element air cleaner, HEI ignition, and more.
It has power steering, power brakes, chrome oil filler neck, bigger
radiator and chrome fan shroud, and runs a 410 rear end and a GM
700R automatic transmission.
The Isuzu Rodeo chassis has all the stock factory suspension parts
with the addition of helper springs in the rear, disc brakes up
front with drums in the rear, the battery under the passenger
floor, runs the factory stock wheels and blackwall tires, with the
entire truck weighing only 3600 lbs.
Interior
The interior consists of twin high-back grey tweed/vinyl bucket
seats with armrests, body-colored dash with gauges, and even an
altimeter too.
It also has black floor mats, tweed side panels and under the dash,
grey headliner, fat black leather steering wheel, and more.
Exterior
Our Willys has a copper colored paint with a 49 Ford front bumper.
Chrome rear bumper, huge tall exhaust semi-stacks on each side to
give it a throaty sound, roof running lights, and a wood sided bed
to store your tailgating accessories.
Conclusion
This total custom 1957 Willys Truck is a special one-of-a-kind
vehicle that will bring a lot of fun into your car cruises and
shows. Sure to win a trophy in any custom Truck class!
