Ground up restored Shelby tribute. This is one of the better cars.
Very dialed in, well sorted. I drove it and it did everything
right. It also came in meticulously clean. It was obviously
somebody's pride and joy. Actually I aquired it from a retired
certified mechanic, he owned it the last 13 years and only sold
because of health issues.
EXTERIOR: It presents itself like a new car. The body is really
straight and smooth, it fits beautifully too. It has a glossy candy
apple red finish. They went the extra making it a Shelby tribute.
It features the Shelby fiberglass hood with scoop and racing pins.
It also has the quarter panel scoops that are actually functional,
they direct cool air at the brakes. This even went as far as having
the plexiglass rear quarter windows put in place of the vents which
the race cars used for extra visibility. Of course it has the
racing stripes over the top of the car and the GT350 stripes on the
rockers. It also features new chrome Magnum wheels with the Shelby
center caps on BF Goodrich tires. In back it has the Shelby gas cap
and GT350 emblem paint. All of the chrome and trim sparkles. The
bumper and the grill are excellent. The antenna, wiper arms
stainless trim all around the windows is excellent. New dual chrome
bullet mirrors, new door handles and in back the bumper, tail
lights, caps and GT exhaust coming through the valance look
new.
INTERIOR: I open the door and the 1st thing that comes to my mind
is how immaculate it looks inside. All the interior lights work.
Every bit of chrome sparkles. Overhead the headliner, visors and
mirror are new and fits tight as a drum. In front of me the dash
pad is real nice, all the instruments look new, heater controls
sparkle, it has walnut steering wheel with Shelby horn button
emergency brake handle is new. There is a tachometer mounted on the
dash in a way that make new holes. The center console is brand new,
there is a wood Shelby shift handle. Down on the floor it's new
carpet with GT350 floor mats front and back. It has seat belts.
Seats were reupholstered, it has the fold down sport seat in back.
New door panels, armrests, window cranks are new. It has a modern
stereo with moulded in kick panel speakers in 6x9s in back.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Upgraded to a 302 motor with aluminum intake
and Edelbrock carb. It's meticulously detailed, the Ford blue paint
is fresh, the nuts and bolts are not painted over. It is dressed up
with finned Cobra valve covers and oval air cleaner. The
distributor, plug wires, coil all look fresh. Upgraded to a 3 core
radiator, new shroud, fan and reproduction FoMoCo hoses and
clamps. It features a new power steering system. Also a new power
brake system. The washer bag and pump look new and are hooked up to
the squirters. New horns. It has an Autolite battery topper. The
engine bay is all clean metal painted satin black, cadmium fender
bolts. It has a Monte Carlo support bar.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very clean trunk compartment has a new plaid mat
with the matching tire cover. The spare is a painted black rim with
good tire. The compartment is painted satin finish red. Under the
trunk lid is glossy red, new weather strip and hinge bolts. It has
an extinguisher for peace of mind.
UNDERSIDE: Front end is all new. Upgraded 1" sway bar, all new
polyurethane bushings, front springs were replaced. All new
steering linkage and gearbox. New shocks in back. Bottom of the
motor is clean, starter and correct canister type fuel pump look
new. Rebuilt C-4 automatic with shift kit and custom oil pan.
Driveshaft looks fresh. New brake system, upgraded to disc in front
with 4 piston Kelsey Hayes calipers. Brake lines were replaced,
e-brake is hooked up. Custom exhaust with cross over pipe,
Flowmaster style mufflers and GT tips. The floors look like clean
metal painted black. Inner rockers, frame rails look clean too.
This is a really nice car in every respect. My job would be so easy
if cars this nice showed up at my door every day. Ready for show
and go. I am sure the next owner will be very happy they bought it,
it that person going to be you?
