This 1982 Chevrolet Corvette has its classic and cool full red
package...but you can also tell there's something more going on
here. The deeper shine of the paint hints at the comprehensive
restoration that made this one sharper, more comfortable, and a
serious power upgrade to the numbers-matching fuel-injected V8. And
the whole package continues to look fresh because there's only
about 600 miles since this was completed.
This coupe is from the C3's final year, and so it really likes
paying tribute in all the best ways. The restoration was all about
making the stock style as absolutely stunning a possible. So while
this was born a red car, there is an extra luster you can instantly
see in the sunlight that makes this one radiate a bit brighter. The
C3 arguably had the best curving fenders of any Corvette, and you
really recognize that here with outstanding body panels that have a
sharp look as they flow down the profile. And with everything
fitting flush from the headlights to the doors, you really get to
see the full style that made this car an icon. Also, just like the
paint and body, there was extra attention paid to the dual exhaust
tips, rockers, and polished alloys to make them shine a bit
brighter and impress from the first glance.
The dark red interior has a sophisticated tone against the bright
red exterior, and this feeling is really carried throughout the
inside. Supple leather seats, plush carpeting, taut door panels,
and a clean dash all show that the restoration was all about
keeping it stock and making it fresh. These later C3s were known
for their added luxury, and this one continues that tradition with
a long list of features. It includes power windows, power locks,
cruise control, and an upgrade to a retro-style AM/FM stereo with
auxiliary input so you can play the most modern tunes. It's easy to
get comfortable with a power driver's seat and a tilt/telescopic
wheel. The large speedometer and tachometer is directly in front of
you, and there's an auxiliary gauge package prominently in the
center of the car. You can show this fantastic interior to the
world as you go cruising around with the T-tops off. There's even
ice-cold air conditioning running modern R134a, so you can stay
open to the world all summer long.
The final-year C3 was special because it was the only time we got a
preview of the fuel-injected powerhouse that was going into the
next generation Corvette. And just like everything else on this
upgraded car, this one gives the numbers-matching motor a big
investment to make it awesome. The 350 cubic-inch V8 was given a
full Eagle 383ci stroker kit and balanced. It has been enhanced and
fortified with aluminum pro comp heads, forged flat-top pistons,
comp hydraulic camshaft, chromoly pushrods, roller lifters,
Renegade Intake, and a rebuilt FI unit with 454 injectors. There
was $7k invested in the motor alone, so there's plenty more work
that's gone into this awesome powerhouse (call for all the
details.) It exhales freely with a set of ceramic-coated Hedman
headers that feed the large pipes of the custom stainless dual
exhaust. Even the numbers-matching 700R4 four-speed automatic
transmission was upgraded with a torque converter by Cooks
Transmissions to work with this upgraded powerhouse. Add in the
fully independent sports suspension, power steering, and four-wheel
power disc brakes and this awesome Corvette is a true all-around
great driver.
With a car this nice people are going to ask plenty of questions.
That's why the sale comes with a full binder documenting this
one-of-a-kind build. You also get the factory buildsheet and
owner's manual. So if you love the looks of a C3, then it's time to
get your hands on the one built to be the ultimate example. Call
