Vehicle Description
1946 Ford has a little extra flair on the outside, a little extra
comfort on the inside, and a little extra growl from the Flathead
V8 under the hood. It all makes for a cool post-war classic that
has the feeling like you're getting a little more of what you love
the most.
The black paint has a true radiance in sunshine that really helps
to distinguish this one right from the first impression. It has a
nice luster the really makes you feel the optimism an immediate
post-WWII car like this gave the world. Plus, the glossy black
gives a contrasting color, but complementing shine, to the full
brightwork package. You can tell there was a recent investment in
making sure all the chrome and trim (a hallmark of this classic) is
looking its best. There's even some added flair from upgrades like
the half-chrome headlights and polished wheel trim. And when you
look beyond the big shine, there are even nice fundamentals,
including good body lines, a functioning cowl, and doors that close
with confidence. It's a well-done total package, right down to the
red accenting up front that coordinates with the red steelie
wheels.
Inside was restored with custom two-tone gray vinyl. The split
bench and taut door panels share tuck and roll style inserts that
delivers a terrific look. Plus, every major component feels fresh
from investment. Just like the exterior, you can see a very
detailed look where the gauges have the classic style, and the
textured feel of the dash matches the door tops. Even the auxiliary
readouts under the dash we installed to coordinate with much of the
trim.
Under the hood is a Ford's 239 cubic-inch flathead V8 that used to
bring cruising happiness back in the day. There's a terrific
appearance with the tidy setup, shining red block paint, and plenty
of polish, including the bolts on the namesake head. So it has the
kind of appearance that people love to see, so it will have you
lifting the hood wherever you park. But the same items that make
this look so fresh (right down to the belts, hoses, and wires) also
make this a great driver. You have upgrades like a 12-volt system
and alternator. It fires up readily, and the Red's headers help
give some more bass to the dual exhaust. The column-shifted
three-speed manual transmission gives you classic-style control
over the motor, and the classic whitewalls hide a modern tread. So
the total package feels solid, fun, and absolutely vintage.
This is an impressive Ford that turns back the clock in all the
best ways and gives you all the right extras along the way. Don't
