Background on 1956 Chevy 2dr Sedan
My Son and I bought this car from a man who had it for several years. He was the second owner. The car was a TWO TEN DELRAY two-door sedan, a six-cylinder engine with a standard transmission. The VIN is B56N062069. He had the engine overhauled sometime before we know of the car and it was in running condition. The car was in fairly good condition. He had someone to start some restoration but gave up on the idea after very little work was done and sold the car to me and my son, making us the 3rd owner.
Restorations That Were Done After I Became The Owner
The restorations were done by Georgetown Classic Car Restorations, LLC. This company is located in Georgetown, Texas. Check their web site (georgetownclassiccarrestorations.com) for information about this company. The car was completely stripped down and everything removed from the body and frame. The body was removed from the frame and the frame was sandblasted and powder coated. The seat springs were media blasted and powered coated. The doors, hood, and trunk lid were removed from the body and all necessary bodywork was done and a primer coat of paint was applied.
Alterations That Were Made To The Car
All alterations were also performed by Georgetown Classic Car Restorations. Fat mat was applied to the floor board and trunk floor. New seat cushions and new DELRAY vinyl seat covers were installed. New DELRAY door panels and head liner from Ciadella Interiors of Tempe Arizona were installed. Both bumpers were free of dents and were re-chromed. Bel Air chrome molding was installed on the outside of the body. A new chrome dash trim was installed on the dash. An Ididit steering column with tilt and adjustable length was installed. Power brakes and power steering were installed. New wiper blade motor was installed. a new GT steering wheel was installed. Rally wheels with stainless steel chrome outer trim beaty rings and GM hub caps installed. A Chevrolet Performance 350 HO Turn-Key 350 ci/330HP Crate Engine was installed. A 4L60E street transmission with an electronic shift improver from B&M Racing & Performance Products was installed. A new 2400 style hole shot torque converter was installed. Two-inch drop spindles with new lower A-arms were installed. New bushings were installed on the upper A-arms. New coil springs on the front end and new leaf springs on the rear were installed. A Dana 60 Differential manufactured by Strange Engineering; Inc of Morton Grove Illinois and a Strange Engineering drive shaft were installed. Anti-sway bars both front and rear were added. Dual exhaust was installed. Disc brakes on the front and rear were added. All new tinted glass was used. The rear of the car was lowered by 3 inches. The front tires are Cooper P225/70R-15 and the rear tires are Copper P255/70R-15. The front grill is stainless steel. The dash instrument panel is a Dakota Digital. The A/C unit is Vintage Air made in San Antonio, Texas. A new and complete wiring harness was installed. New carpet and floor mats were installed. The radio is a new am – fm. A custom-fit car cover from the California Car Cover Co. is also included. There were many small items such as screws, U bolts, moldings, bushings, nuts, and bolts, too many items to mention. Everything is new except for the body and frame and they were restored to a new condition. The paint scheme is silver and black, the right colors for the Las Vegas Raiders. The battery is located in the trunk of the car.
