If you are in the market for a performance Mustang then Roush should be at the top of your list. This Stage 3 convertible really demonstrates that point. With improvements to the drivetrain, suspension, brakes, exterior, interior, and more, it is not only a huge upgrade over a factory Mustang GT but also provides a visceral driving experience you’ll want to enjoy daily.
This southwestern example is a 2006 model showing 53k miles. It looks fantastic with its factory Tungsten Grey paint (1 of 5 this year) along with silver stripes and a black convertible top. There are also Roush accents throughout including the 7-piece Aerobody kit. This car seems to have just the right look; it sets itself apart from ordinary Mustangs and Shelbys without going over-the-top. Note too the 18” Roush wheels wearing high performance BF Goodrich tires (275/40ZR18 all around).
The drivetrain starts with the Mustang GT 4.6L motor but adds a supercharger along with an intercooler and a Roush calibrated ECM. It is factory rated at 415HP with loads of torque throughout the rpm range. It makes a wonderful sound under boost! The motor is backed by a 5-speed manual transmission with Roush shifter. Additional Stage 3 equipment includes front struts, rear shocks, front and rear springs, and front and rear sway bars. You also get the Roush brake kit with 14” 2-piece front rotors and the Roush high performance exhaust.
The interior also gets the Roush treatment starting with the Stage 3 sport leather seating. There are also white face gauges, billet aluminum pedals, embroidered floor mats, and a billet aluminum shift handle. This convertible model also has the optional Roush light bar kit which really adds to the look when the top is down. There is also a convertible boot cover along with the Shaker 500 audio system.
The Mustang GT is a great car, but Roush takes it several steps further. It has both great looks and excellent performance (it’s hard not to speed in this car). This car also includes the original Ford and Roush window stickers showing a total price of $55,510. In addition there is a folder of receipts from the last ten years. You won’t find many cars with this level of performance in this price range; don’t let this one slip by.
