Only 2,300 miles since it was restored as a Shelby. It has some
very desirable upgrades including air conditioning andn a 5-speed
trans.
EXTERIOR: Everything about it says Shelby front to back, you can't
tell it from the original. It has the Shelby fiberglass vented hood
with the fiberglass nose cone around the unique grill with the fog
lamps. On each side it has scoops on the upper and lower quarter
panels with GT350 stripes. In back it has the dovetail fiberglass
trunk and end caps. It also features the sequential turn signals
with the Shelby gas cap in the middle. The 10-spoke aluminum Shelby
wheels and the Cobra emblems the finish it off. The body and paint
appeared to be in excellent condition as I walked around it. I
eyeballed down the sides and across the tops, and it is really
straight and everything fits exceptionally well. The Highland Green
metallic paint was laid out evenly and it's clearcoat was polished
out very smooth and glossy. It has a deep reflection. Upfront the
bumper, trim, emblems, hood locks all look fresh. The windshield is
very clear, the stainless moldings are good. In back the bumper,
taillights and gas cap look new. The Shelby wheels are upgraded to
15 inch and have Goodyear tires. The door jambs are tidy,
weatherstrips were replaced and it has the extended sill
plates.
INTERIOR: Inside the car is restored very nicely. The seats have
been reupholstered, it has the fold down sport seat in back. All
the plastic trim is in real nice shape. The headliner is new and
tight, visors and mirror looks new. The dash pad andl instrument
bezels were replaced. It does have the factory tachometer and
clock. Down on the floor the carpet is excellent, 5-speed shifter
looks like the original with the reverse lockout. There is an
upgraded Mustang stereo and upgraded air conditioning unit below
the dash. Owner's manual is in the glove box. New door panels and
armrests.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Performance built 289 motor is dressed up real
slick within the aluminum Cobra valve covers and air cleaner on
top. It has an aluminum intake with a giant dual feed Holley
carburetor with electric choke. It also has a set of headers, MSD
coil and a chrome alternator. Modern air conditioning system was
installed neatly. It also features power steering. The engine bay
is real clean, smooth metal painted satin black. It looks complete-
washer bottle, battery hold down, fan shroud, horns, everything
looks proper.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Trunk compartment has clean metal painted green.
It has the plaid mat, jack and spare. Weatherstrip is soft. The
compartment opens up into the backseat.
UNDERSIDE: The front end components look very fresh- control
alarms, ball joints, sway bar bushings all look recent. It has been
upgraded with a rack and pinion steering system. In back it has new
shocks and tubular control arms. The bottom of the motor looks real
clean, fuel pump and starter look new. Trans is upgraded with a
5-speed transmission. New custom driveshaft connects to it's
original 3.00 posi rear. There is a nice sounding dual exhaust
system with a crossover pipe and the chrome tips coming out through
the valence. Disc brakes in front, e-brake cables are hooked up.
The underbody looks like it's real clean metal: the floors, frame
rails and torque boxes look good.
The Mustang is arguably America's favorite car, the Shelby is
Legendary. Here is a desirable car that you can enjoy using!
