Considered the second generation (1959-1960) of Brookwood;
Chevrolet again came up with a totally new car. From the front or
the rear these Chevrolets resembled nothing else on the road. From
the headlights, placed as low as the law would allow, to the
cats-eye tail lights, the most dramatic change was the flat, wing
shaped tailfins.
This 1960 Chevrolet Brookwood four door station wagon originally
finished in Horizon Blue is now finished in Ermine White with a
two-tone red and white interior. This Brookwood is powered with
what appears to be the original 235 cubic inch 6-cylinder motor
which is mated to a 3-speed manual column shift transmission. From
the provided paperwork this station wagon was restored over a
two-year period starting in early 2009 by Chop Shop Customs.
Unfortunately, due to storage conditions the restoration is
starting to show some deterioration in the body and chrome. The
underside and frame have remained in good overall condition.
This 1960 Brookwood station wagon runs very well with its rebuilt
motor and shifts into gear as would be expected. This is a great
classic to take to a local cruise night or throw your surf board on
the roof and hit the waves. Whatever you choose to do the adventure
starts with this Brookwood.
