Vehicle Description
1969 Cougar XR7, factory double R code that I have been building
for the past 4 years. She was built Nov. 22 1968 in San Jose, 18
days late, and spent her life in Washington State until 1986 when a
truck driver brought her to store in Medina, OH until I purchased a
few years ago. She was a roller, missing the original 428 and c6,
but still has the original (cleaned and freshened) 3.25 31 spline
rear with tags. The car is solid as I have seen, being in
washington, it was not subjected to OH weather. Medium Lime
metallic with black vinyl roof and hood stripes, and dark ivy gold
(dark green) interior. Over the past 3.5 years I have replaced the
engine with an 'A' scratch 428 block, .40 over by parson and
meyers, correct CobraJet heads and crank, forged pistons, crane
cam, FPA ceramic headers, performer rpm intake, holley 750 carb,
completely new moog suspension, and thousands in parts and machine
work. Transmission is a 1967 mercury C6 built by a local shop.
Original air cleaner is gone and replaced with a functional open
air element. Paint is about 70% original and patina matched the
replaced cowl, fascia and drivers fender. Car was scuffed and matte
cleared. The car wears much of her originality. The factory vinyl
roof is shredded, but you can see that it is clean underneath (not
an OH car). The original windshield is cracked (same as 1969
mustang coupe). Headliner is hanging and been tapped up (all three
things would theoretically be replaced at the same time, but some
would prefer the original look at patina). 17x7 front and 18x9.5
rears. Lowered 1' rear and 1.5' front Gauges read just under 43k
miles, which i believe to be correct. I melted the new speedo
cable, but have only put on about 1k miles since building and going
to car shows like good guys. Can get in and drive with no issues.
