Vehicle Description
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396
Why This Car Is Special
Not to often will you find an all-black 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle
SS396 with the matching numbers 396 cubic inch engine with 350
horsepower, Air Conditioning, and a Turbo 400 automatic
transmission for sale, but we have one here for you at Skyway
Classics.
Chevelles are immensely popular cars and none are so much highly
sought after as the 1970 model packing big block V8's.
Mechanical
Under the hood of this 1970 Chevelle SS is its numbers matching 350
horse 396 cubic inch L34 V8 engine verified by the engine stamping
and casting numbers showing the correct VIN number of the Chevelle
as well as the T0303CTW engine code.
The original numbers-matching big-block V8 was called the SS396,
but the motor actually displaced a larger 402 cubic-inches from the
factory.
It retains all the factory correct parts on it like the four-barrel
carburetor, cast iron exhaust manifolds, chrome valve covers, open
air cleaner with factory Cowl Induction under hood system, power
steering and power brakes with factory front disc brakes, air
conditioning, and more.
The engine bay is highly detailed as is the chassis with the dual
exhaust running out under the rear bumper thru chrome tips on each
side, sway bars front & rear, and the Turbo 400 automatic
transmission that runs to a 12-bolt rear end out back.
Add in and the good grip of wide BF Goodrich T/A Radial tires
mounted on the factory 5-spoke SS wheels and you get this big block
which is a true driver's machine.
Interior
The black bucket seat interior is very nice also as everything
looks factory correct with an upgraded AM/FM Stereo, great dash
housing with the optional U14 round gauge package that includes the
very welcomed tachometer, factory horseshoe shifter in the center
console, dual-spoke SS steering wheel, matching black carpet, door
panels, and rear seat.
The result is a Chevelle SS that feels like time piece as the
interior is in excellent condition top to bottom. The trunk is also
finished in grey trunk splatter and looks great and has the grey
cloth mat, spare tire and wheel, and the jack assembly.
Exterior
Our Chevelle is finished in stunning Tuxedo Black paint flowing
over the cowl induction hood with the white SS stripes, super
straight factory panels, blacked-out grille, rear panel, bulging
fenders, and the fastback hardtop profile.
The chrome bumpers, wheel arch trim, Chevelle and SS badging,
bright rocker trim really look great and draw people to the car at
shows or even gas stations.

The all-black 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 with the matching
numbers 396 cubic inch engine with 350 horsepower, Air
Conditioning, and a Turbo 400 automatic transmission we have here
