Vehicle Description
1932 Ford Custom Roadster
You just stumbled across an extremely cool 1932 Ford Roadster that
has a ton going for it. The car has been very well built in a 50's
style but also incorporates modern comforts to make it an old
school custom that you can comfortably cruise in anywhere. The body
is from Gibbons who is regarded as one of the nicer glass bodies
available. It has a 2 inch chopped front windshield and the doors
are shaved clean of the handles. The paint is a very clean PPG
Cherry Red paint with vintage styled custom pinstriping done in
White. It has some free hand striping designs on the nose and
decklid with pinstriping scallops stretching across the hood and
fenders. The body sits on a modified boxed original frame that is
painted Black. In the front and rear it has custom made chrome nerf
bars which give it a unique look. The removable Baron LeBonney
White top looks great in place and is easy to remove. It also comes
with side curtains. One very cool feature of the car is the
matching custom trailer that is all painted to match the car. This
offers a bunch of additional storage space which is something that
these old 30s classic are known to be lacking. It makes the car
much more realistic to take on long cruises because you will have
space for all your car show gear and luggage. The car rides on
Radir Mag wheels (14-F/15-R) with wide white wall tires.
The car runs without side panels to show off the crate 350 V8 that
gets those wheels turning. It does come with a pair of primered
side panels but due to the mounting of the alternator would need
some modifications to put in place. The car runs great and the
motor has been built up with a tuned port injection system, HEI
distributor, stock GM coil, 8mm AC Delco plug wires, a high output
1 wire alternator, GM throttle bracket, GM fuel filter, electronic
fuel pump, GM starter, '85 Corvette valve covers, GM air cleaner
and block hugger headers. The car has a great sound with steel 2
1/2 inch exhaust with chrome Elco can tips. The car has no heating
issues thanks to the Walker radiator and "The Cooling Machine"
electric fan with shroud. Paired with the motor is a TH700R4
T&M transmission with a radiator mounted transmission cooler.
The suspension has been entirely redone with a Mustang II set up in
front with 2 inch drop spindles, shorter springs, and a power
steering rack. In back it has a Camaro 10 bolt rear end (3:36
gears) and Carrera coilover. The car has power brakes with discs in
front and drums in rear.
The interior is in excellent shape and complete in a nice Red and
White combination. The bench features rolled and pleated vinyl
upholstery and looks great. The car comes with 2 sets of floor mats
with one used when driving and the other for shows. The dash is
nicely painted to match the body and features the same cool custom
pinstriping. It is topped with Dakota Digital gauges mounted in a
billet bezel. Below the steel portion of the dash a second section
was made and also has roll pleated upholstery. It is used to mount
the vents for the Vintage AC/Heat and the AM/FM/Casette/CD player.
In front of the driver is a tilt column from a 69-72 pickup and it
is fitted with a Grant steering wheel. To the left of the column is
a control pad for the cruise control system. The trunk is nicely
done in Black and is where you will find the relocated battery.
Behind the removable panel is a power amp and the backs of 2 of the
6 total interior speakers.
As you can see this car was set up to be driven and enjoyed. It is
a great cruiser and has a unique style that really sets it
apart.
