Vehicle Description
A 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle hardtop is an icon of American muscle,
and now this one has been brought into the modern age with
fuel-injected 7.4-liter Vortec V8 power. And everything from the
sleek paint to the overdrive transmission tells you this is a
quality build that's about more than just the big block power.
The paint sets the tone nicely for this coupe. It's a true muscle
machine, and so it's always going to look right in red. But this is
a restomod, and so it gets a deeper tone and a modern shine. It
announces to the world it's something just a bit different. That's
the real theme of this coupe. You get all your favorite classic
pieces, like the pillarless hardtop profile, shining chrome
bumpers, and flying buttress roof. There are even nice SS-style
upgrades like the badging and ribbed rockers. But keen eyes will
also pick up on the extra power bulge of the hood and extra wide
exhaust tips. They are hints that there was extra thought and work
under the skin of this Chevy.
Inside, they invested nicely inside to make sure it is dark, clean,
and ready to show off. You get plenty of great vintage details,
like the center console and dual-spoke sports steering wheel. Even
the clock works! This one has been upgraded subtly for some extra
comfort, like the tilt steering column. There are even provisions
for air conditioning (likely needs a charge to blow ideally cold.)
And just like the exterior, you get a few hints at the upgrade in
the engine bay with the column-mounted tach and the extra position
on the floor shifter. It even now fires up with the push-button
ignition like a race car.
Under the hood is the unmistakable look of something special. You
have the obvious look of big block power and the Vortec callout
lets everyone know it's a modern one. The 7.4-liter motor gives you
the legendary 454 cubic-inch displacement, and the color-matched
intake really draws eyes to the modern fuel-injected setup. In
fact, people will notice the full block and valve covers are also
in that attractive deeper red. And everything from the upgraded oil
pan to the aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans tell you they
made sure this upgrade was built to run. The big V8 fires up with a
terrific tune as Hooker long tube headers add power while
contributing to the rumble of the newer dual exhaust with
performance X-pipe construction. But having a fuel-injected motor
is not just about power, it's about getting more practicality, too.
The upgraded 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission fits this
versatile package, too. It's a stout unit that also gives you
overdrive comfort. Plus, you have power steering, power brakes
w/discs up front, and wide BF Goodrich T/A tires.
This is a fresh build with sleek looks and a ton of power. So you
know you don't want this Chevelle restomod to end up in someone
else's garage. Call today!!!
