Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1940 Dodge Deluxe Street
Rod. The 1940 Dodge Deluxe was a one-year-only body and features a
striking design with a big chrome grille, center-hinged hood, a
flowing roofline - and of course those awesome suicide doors.
This particular car was restored, updated and customized in the
late 1990s to a high standard with shows and touring in mind - and
it certainly drives better than Dodge could have ever dreamed
possible in 1940. A Nova front subframe allows for a modern
suspension and disk brakes in the front. Power comes from a crate
Chevrolet 350 with a 4bbl Edelbrock carb, aluminum intake and HEI
distributor mated to a 700R4 automatic transmission and 10-bolt
Nova rear end with 3.55 gears. Other modern updates include
ice-cold Vintage Air A/C, power steering, cruise control, tilt
column, radio hidden in glovebox and aluminum radiator.
The Beretta teal and Dodge silver paint still shows to a very nice
standard over a very straight body with nice chrome and trim. The
interior is fully upholstered in attractive grey tweed with
comfortable bucket seats up front. The owner has used this car
regularly on trips to car events and drove it two hours to our
showroom on a 90 degree on the highway at 70 miles per hour in
quiet comfort with the A/C keeping him cool. It has been driven
23,000 miles since it was built. Recent service has included an oil
change, tune up, alignment, tie rods and pitman arm, A/C service,
shocks, trans and rear end fluids and more. If you are in the
market for a unique, nicely done street rod at an attractive price
point, this one warrants a close look.
