Body off frame restored, taken down to a bare shell. #s match and
documented by Pontiac Historical Services. Loaded with options
including the 455 motor. Red, white and blue Trans Am, that's as
American as it gets!
EXTERIOR: Southern car (Alabama) with a clean body. It was off the
frame and taken down to a bare shell. We have photos of the
process. The body is straight and fits right. The factory spot
welds are still visible around the wheel well lips and lower 1/4s.
Smooth even along the bottom, no bubbles. The Cameo white paint is
polished to a smooth glossy finish. There are only a few minor
imperfections you would need to look for. The rubber bumpers and
spoilers are in excellent condition. The grills, headlight bezels,
glass are very nice. Jambs are clean, weatherstrips were replaced.
The decals are excellent. It has a set of honey comb wheels which I
love and the BFG tires look new.
INTERIOR: Overall very nice looking. It has the optional deluxe
interior with seats so comfy I want one at my desk. It is not
perfect but I think it's exceptionally clean and tidy, u abused.
All the same color red too. The formula wheel is on a tilt column.
Clean instrument area, dash pad is excellent. It has the rally
gauges and rear defrost. Upgraded modern stereo and 6x9 speakers.
Also upgraded embroidered floor mats. Power windows work fine. Door
panels are excellent. Headliner is excellent, dome light works.
TRUNK: Clean original metal with a gray spatter paint. The jack is
properly mounted, the spare is a rally ll wheel. The mat,
weatherstrip and decal look real good. Trunk light works.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: #s matching 455, restored to factory condition.
Everything has a clean finish. The parts are painted neatly. The
shaker air cleaner assembly is complete, even the snorkel tubes. It
is complete down to the shroud, washer bottle, overflow bottle,
vacuum hoses etc. It features power steering and brakes. The
factory air looks complete.
UNDERSIDE: Super dry, clean original metal. Even the inner, lower
1/4 panels are dry metal with the drain plugs still in tact. The
inner rockers are dry, floors are clean and painted satin black.
The front was rebuilt during the restoration- ball joints, springs,
bushings, shocks etc. The bottom of the motor is clean, starter
looks clean, it has the flywheel cover. The original Turbo 400
automatic is clean, has original tag riveted to it. All the
attached components are clean too- the vacuum module, kick down
cable, speedometer cable. In back it has it's original 3.08 posi.
The rear was restored and detailed right down to correct assembly
line markings. The rear suspension looks clean and fresh. Sway bar,
leaf springs and pads, shocks look clean. The exhaust system has
been replaced and upgraded. The pipes look fatter, the muffler is
bigger and it has splitter tips. Brake system was restored, lines
replaced, the e-brake cables are complete, has disc in front. The
fuel system was replaced. It is exceptionally nice under this
car.
The restoration is about 20 years old but has been very well cared
for since. I bought it locally from a gentleman that has owned it
the last 15 years. He had it regularly maintained at TriPower
automotive. I think it is exceptionally clean, has great features,
great documentation, great colors. I drove it home, it felt
great!
