The Ford Thunderbird was a rear wheel drive automobile was manufactured over eleven model generations from 1955 through 2005. The Thunderbird created a market niche that eventually became known as the personal luxury car.

Mechanical Specs

Our T-Bird is powered by a 312 cubic inch Y-block V8 engine that was factory rated at 215 horsepower, which was the Thunderbird's standard engine, which is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
Ours has what looks like an all original engine compartment with all the factory correct hose, clamps, accessories as well as the factory correct 4-barrel carb.

It has the dress up kit with the correct Thunderbird finned valve the Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission that shifts perfect. The engine also has a chrome air cleaner gets fresh air through the fully functional hood scoop.

The exhaust system is good and the chassis is as clean and detailed as the rest of the car which rides on 15? body-color steel wheels with factory chrome wheel covers that wear a set of white stripe tires that look great.

It has had refurbishment of the radiator, replacement of ignition components, and an oil change has all been done.

Interior

You will like the This 1956 Ford Thunderbird as is finished in red over a two-tone red and white vinyl upholstery on the bench seat, along with red carpets and machine-turned trim along the door panels and dashboard.

Additional amenities include a three-spoke steering wheel, and a floor-mounted shifter, instrumentation includes a central 150-mph speedometer and an analog clock.

Exterior

The exterior is finished in red with a color-matching removable porthole-window hardtop. Features include a curved-glass windshield, removable rear fender skirts, a hood scoop, and exhaust outlets under rear bumper.

The spare tire was moved to the outside of the trunk for the 1956 model year, and braking is provided by four wheel drums.
The bodywork, fit and finish are nicely done. The graceful fins and body lines has straight panels and the taillight end caps round out the rear end of the car. Other details like the Thunderbird badges, rear bumper, and the stainless trim on the fender skirts are all great.
