and a solid car. Collectors will rank 1969 Z28 Camaros like ours at
near the top of the food chain for all Camaros.
Engine & Drivetrain
In 1969, the Z28 Camaro had a several things that set it apart from
your average Camaro. First and foremost it had the coveted Z28 302
cubic inch DZ engine that was underrated at 290 horsepower @ only
5800 rpm, even though it would rev to over 7,000!
The owner states this is the original engine and it does have the
correct block number cast on the back with the correct Vin #
stamped on the front pad too.
The engine looks like a time capsule with the correct factory
intake and decals, finned aluminum valve covers, exhaust manifolds,
and most other items all in the factory looking engine
compartment.
Ours even still has the original GM part #3923289 Holley list
number 4053 - DZ carb that all 1969 Z28's had which flows 780 cfm
and delivers the needed fuel to give optimum response to your ride
as the exhaust headers feed the dual exhaust.
Other factors that this Z28 Camaro has is the factory correct Power
Front Disc Brakes, dual exhaust, and the Muncie M22 4-speed
transmission that launches this car through the gears and keeps the
rubber on the road with a 4.10 Positraction 12 bolt rear end.
Underneath it is super clean and our Camaro rides on blackwall
tires front and rear and 15-inch Rally Wheels.
Interior
Our Z28 has a 715 Code Blue standard bucket seat interior with blue
carpet that features a factory 120 mph Speedometer, 8000 RPM Tach,
Center Console with the chrome Hurst shifter and aluminum T-Handle,
Factory Gauges and the optional console gauge cluster, wood grain
trim, all of which gives the interior a classy look with an awesome
cockpit.
Even the factory AM radio and the key buzzer still works.
Exterior
The Trim Tag verifies this 1969 Z28 was painted at the factory
wrapped in a beautiful shade of
#71-LeMans Blue paint. The paint is show quality thanks to a
professional respray that occurred during the restoration.
The fit and finish on this car stands out in the crowd and shows
off the iconic body lines, the great Z/28 parts including a cowl
induction hood, Z28 badging, front air dam, rear ducktail spoiler,
Z28 stripes, as well as the finished trunk, also look as new.
