This 1978 Chevrolet Corvette may be the lowest mile C3 in a private collection at this time with 25.1 actual miles. This car is still on open MSO and has never been registered or titled.
The car was ordered in November 1977 from Bill Dean Chevrolet in Conway, Arkansas for the current owners father and arrived at the dealership in August 14, 1978 according to a handwritten log. Upon delivery to the dealership, the car had just under 5 miles on the odometer. The vehicle was not dealer prepped. The father drove it home from the dealership and it never really moved after that.
The car has recently underwent service to get it running and driving, but the buyer will want to do a thorough inspection if putting the car back on the road. The car still sits on its original tires. During the recent service, the brakes were removed and sent off to be rebuilt to factory specifications. All fluids were changed and the motor was properly primed before starting. The car fired and idled for several minutes without smoking. Additionally, the car was driven 0.1 miles and ran as it should. Prior to this service, the car had sat in storage since the 1990s without being touched or moved.
The car recently underwent a full cosmetic detail on the exterior and interior. The engine bay was not detailed at this time. At the time of detail, the cardboard pieces installed at the factory protecting the floor and other interior pieces was removed. The factory installed plastic is still in tact.
