Vehicle Description
This 1991 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA represents the ultimate
sports machine from GM's performance division, and this one has
everything you want. It has the larger fuel-injected V8, it's
loaded with all the best features (including A/C), and Pontiac fans
know the design this year is quite distinctive.
Pontiac gave the Firebird a sleek restyling in 1991, and it only
lasted through the next year. So the unique beak-like pointed front
fascia and ground effects are becoming quite sought-after today.
This desirability is added to range-topping GTA that was the
pinnacle of Pontiac performance of this era. It received the
biggest tires, biggest brakes, and the best full body kit
(especially the rear wing,) to represent all-out performance. As
this one crosses the 30-year-old true classic threshold, it's
looking quite well preserved. The factory Bright Red paint looks to
be original, and so it's great to have it still giving off a nice
luster in the sunlight. The vivid hue is arguably the best color
because it sets the right tone for this more aggressive T/A with
its hood slats and blackout rear panel. It's also quite rare
(possibly less than 225 were done in this color for 1991.) Of
course, people will also not be able to take their eyes off the
GTA's hallmark factory crosslace gold wheels.
Inside is everything you want from an original GTA, and it's just
as correct and preserved as the exterior. It starts with the
GTA-exclusive Ultima bucket seats with power lumbar support for the
best in comfort. A later car like this means the added safety of an
airbag steering wheel. Beyond that, is the sporty full round gauge
cluster, and the GTA got the special 140 mph speedometer. Because
this was the top-of-the-line car for Pontiac, it comes loaded with
features like power windows, power locks, alarm, power steering,
power mirrors, cruise control, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. And
the air conditioning is running modern R134a refrigerant to keep
you cool today and easy servicing down the road.
There was one option everyone looks for in the GTA, and it's the
Corvette-derived L98 5.7-liter fuel-injected motor. This special V8
is believed to be original to the car, and it has the stock look of
good care. That's what you get with a coupe that has averaged less
than 2,500 miles annually. GM's 700R4 four-speed automatic
transmission was a good paring because its stout nature can handle
the power and torque produced by the range-topping engine. Plus,
it's quick shifting nature and overdrive setup made it versatile
for everything from street to highway use. The GTA was the king of
the streets because it received the WS6 sports suspension as
standard. This code has been the key to Pontiac's reputation as one
of the best performance brands of the era. Plus, you have the
superior grip of BF Goodrich gForce Sport tires working with
four-wheel power disc brakes.
Complete with owner's manual, this is the powerful, sharp, loaded,
and rare package that delivers true classic performance
distinction. So at a price like this, it's time to hurry and catch
this deal. Call now!
