For Sale: 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle in Charlotte, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

You already know that RK Motors Charlotte has a thing for Chevrolet's most famous muscle car. From their long list of options and stacks of documentation to their hundreds of cubic inches of big block bliss, we've brought you some of the most mind-blowing, potent and flat-out brutal Chevelles the market has ever seen! And from the sick ZZ502 drop-top we sold last week to the documented LS6 coupe we featured a few months ago, we continue to be your number one source for anything that starts with the letters C, H, E and V. After all, what's not to love about a classic that defines the dominant era of Chevrolet ingenuity, showcases an unparalleled era in American culture and represents the best era of Detroit's manufacturing might? Absolutely nothing. And that's why this buff resto-mod, with its 489 cubic inch big block, upgraded driveline and classy red on black aesthetics, is the perfect piece for the muscle car fan who enjoys hitting the road AND the show!

APPROPRIATELY RED

The beneficiary of a comprehensive rotisserie restoration, this nouveau Super Sport wears a clean and solid body under glossy Bolero Red two-stage. And, despite its custom drivetrain, the car's trim and ornamentation remain just as the General specified. An attractive Super Sport grille centers a prominent "SS396" emblem between a mirrored bumper, small parking lamps and bright halogen headlights. Behind that grille, a chrome-trimmed Super Sport hood creeps toward straight stainless frames, which join polished wipers and a bright white roof to cage like-new glass. At the sides of that hood, familiar fender flags and quarter-mounted "Super Sport" scripts cage dent-free wheel lips, traditional door handles, a choice bowtie mirror and predictable Super Sport rocker moldings. And out back, a stylish Super Sport valance hangs vintage taillights and a second "SS396" emblem above a second chrome bumper and clear reverse lamps.

BIG BLOCK STROKER

Few cars fit the 'muscle car' description better than a Chevelle. Clocking in at exactly 489 cubic inches, this coupe's buff stroker twists stout 10.4 to 1 compression into epic horsepower and loads of low-end torque. Naturally, the internally balanced mill is stuffed with an impressive roster of hardware, including an Eagle crank, Eagle H-beam rods, MAHLE pistons, an Edelbrock cam, Edelbrock lifters, Edelbrock pushrods, and ARP bolts and studs. Proven Holley carburetion combines with an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Comp Pro Magnum roller rockers, an HEI distributor and Accel Extreme 9000 plug wires to kick start combustion. A billet frontrunner system spins Cloyes timing components and a high quality Stewart water pump behind an electric puller fan and polished aluminum radiator. And items like chrome valve covers, a polished Chevrolet air cleaner and a Milodon 7-quart oil pan add both form and function.

FOR THE LOVE OF DRIVING

That tweaked mill spins power through a McLeod dual-friction clutch to a Tremec TKO500 5-speed. That transmission is hooked to a 12-bolt Moser rear end, which is fitted with 3.73 gears and a posi-traction differential. That drivetrain rolls on a traditional double A-arm front and 4-link rear suspension. Modern power steering is a welcome addition to any muscle car. Stops are provided by power-assisted discs. Ceramic-coated long-tube headers flow into aluminized pipes, which breathe through great sounding Flowmaster mufflers. And, at the corners of the car, chrome Foose wheels spin 245/45ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs in front of 295/45ZR18 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs.

RETRO WITH AIR

This Chevelle's thorough restoration included the installation of a correct Black interior. Firm bucket seats ride between fresh floor mats and a chrome Hurst shifter. A familiar Super Sport dash, equipped with Deluxe Gauges, is augmented by a small tachometer. A digital AM/FM head unit is present and accounted for. Vintage Air climate control makes mid-summer cruising as easy as the twist of a knob. In front of the driver, a 3-spoke, "SS" branded steering wheel laps a polished and tilting column. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk features a correct jack and full-size spare tire.

In summary, this top-notch Chevelle represents 'muscle motoring' at its very finest, combining a drop-top driving experience with stunning design, a clean restoration and no-excuses performance. Hit the backroads... Take it to the local cruise... Put it in the Holiday parade... Whatever you elect to do with this cool Chevy, it's sure to be the centerpiece of traffic, the focal point of your garage and, most importantly, the car you most look forward to being seen in!
