including the order form, brochure and receipts. Most people that
own these enjoy an exhilarating ride on the streets although they
are built to such high standards it can be competitive on the
track. The brochure does a great job of explaining the level of
quality that Factory Five puts into these cars. Only 6 originals
were built by Shelby and are worth millions. These are refined
versions of the originals at a fraction of the cost.
EXTERIOR: Hand laid composite body is very faithful to the
original- same scoops, bulges, and shape. Original features include
covered headlights, removable Lexan sliding windows, pop up gas
cap, bullet mirrors and much more. It has the forward tilting hood.
Reproduction 17 inch Halibrand sytle wheels have Kumho performance
tires. Painted Eleanor colors- pepper gray with black metallic
stripes. Smooth glossy finish, stripes are even smooth to the
touch. It has a few chips on the nose. The stainless side exhaust
will let your neighbors know you are home.
INTERIOR: The cockpit is lined with sound deadener and carpeted
with bound edges. Racing style seats with 5 point racing harnesses
keep you in place around the hairpin corners. In front of you is a
matched set of easy to read gauges, quick release cushion grip
wheel and a/c controls. Yes it has air, also upgraded with a very
useful back up camera. It has a touch screen Kenwood stereo system.
The Lokar automatic shifter is made to look like a manual. Overall
excellent condition inside.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: New motor was brand new from GM, we have the
receipt ($9,323). LS-3, 6.2 liter making 430 hp. LS-5 hot cam, Jet
Hot coated headers, $450 ignition system, power steering,
serpentine belt and pulley system, 1 wire alternator etc. It has a
comprehensive cooling system. Fresh air enters through the front of
the car, through a big aluminum radiator and out through a big
opening in the hood. It has a large electric fan, custom made
shroud, an aluminum expansion tank, aluminum airbox and overflow
tank. My overall impression is this is a professionally put
together engine compartment. All the components are modern,
properly installed and clean. Nothing about it looks tacky or 2nd
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rear window hatch opens up with gas struts. The
carpeted trunk space looks like new.
UNDERSIDE: Very impressive tubular chassis has authentic design
with modern technology. 4 inch tubular frame, 6 point roll cage,
cockpit steel surround, racing footbed protection, skid plates,
front and rear crumple zones. Refer to the picture from the
brochure. The floors are laser cut aluminum panels. Independent
front suspension with tubular control arms, Koni adjustable coil
over gas shocks and rack & pinion steering. 3 link rear suspension
has Koni coil over gas adjustable shocks and tubular control arms.
Bottom of the motor is aluminum, has high torque starter and is
hooked up to a 4L60 overdrive automatic trans. Professionally built
and balanced driveshaft. Powder coated Ford 9 inch rear with
Strange Engineering aluminum case, 31 spline traction lock and
spool, S&W axle package, 3.70 gears. Wilwood brake system has
slotted discs at all four wheels and an e-brake system. 6 piston
calipers in front, 4 piston in back.
I drove it home, this car is exciting. You will be looking for
"curves ahead" signs!
