Vehicle Description
This 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has the dual-quad V8,
four-on-the-floor and a ton of all the right investments over the
last few years. The result is a car that remains very vintage but
is also made for those who love the drive.
This color combo is a big reason why the Corvette firmly
established itself as America's sports car during its first
generation. The black with sliver accent coves portrays both
sophistication and speed, which is what you want in a personal
sports car. Plus, there's plenty of brightwork, so it's great to
see this car complete everywhere from the toothy grille to the
factory wheel covers. There are some exclusive touches to the 1958
car. It was the first year for the four headlights, only year for
the silver streaks on the trunk, and the louvers in the hood were
only found here. It gives this car added distinction while also
keeping all the best pieces that helped grow the legend of
America's sports car. We particularly love these for the optional
hardtop. As you can see on this color-matched one, these C1s were
particularly good at delivering a design that looked like it was
made to be a swoopy coupe from day one.
As much as we like the look of this with the roof in place, the C1
also knew how to have the look of a true roadster. And it's hard to
attract more attention than a bold red interior. You have
well-fitting vinyl on the bucket seats, a smooth dash, and that
ideal thin grip that only a classic steering wheel can deliver.
Plus, details like the correct factory tach and the smooth action
of the shifter really give you a confident driver feeling even in a
very vintage vehicle.
Under the hood is a quite correct-looking package. Everything from
the broad and bright air grabber to the Delco generator look like
the correct pieces for a stock '58 Corvette. And while this looks
factory, there have also been some big investments. We have a
receipt from 2016 documenting a rebuilt motor form Hi Performance
Restorations. They are Corvette specialists in the Midwest, and it
includes $$$$ invested in this era-correct block. There was even
camshaft work for the special Duntov high-lift cam. And making sure
this V8 gets plenty of go-juice is a dual set of Rochester
four-barrel carburetors. This all means correct power with a
fresher presentation. That's why it's such a strong package, and it
even makes a terrific sound out of the newer dual exhaust. You have
complete control over this big power and its rumbling soundtrack
thanks to the four-speed manual transmission (also professional
rebuilt in 2016.) Extra control is a central theme to this C1 that
also includes a Positraction rear and a front disc brake
upgrade.
The sale comes complete with build receipts, maintenance records,
and title documentation. This one has the look, the power, and the
driver-ready feel. It makes for an awesome Corvette you can't
resist. Call today!!!
