Vehicle Description
This 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS has the colors and stance
you want in a real-deal Super Sport. Of course what will really
have you hooked is that there has been plenty invested to upgrade
the suspension, overdrive transmission, and big power stroker V8 to
make sure this hardtop is more than just a pretty face.
The exterior of this coupe likes to keep it classic SS style. Clean
lines, shiny red paint, and bright chrome bumpers just make this an
attractive all-around classic. In fact, the biggest visual upgrade
are those polished Cragar SS wheels, and that's the kind of thing
someone may have done on the second day of Malibu SS ownership back
in 1965. So it seems extra impressive that with everything beneath
the skin, this one just wants to keep the first impression as a
crisp and quality-style classic. Of course, when you twist the key
and let this one roar, then it instantly gives away its full
upgraded nature (but more on that in a moment.)
Black interiors look great against red cars, and this has a clean
and complete presentation. Plus, the bucket seats with a center
console is a hallmark of the '65 Super Sport cars. But more than
just vintage, this has plenty of the right upgrades. There's an
AM/FM/CD stereo with upgraded speakers. In the trunk, there's a
cleanly installed amp and subwoofers that all follow the car's
color theme for an added thoughtful touch. You slip behind a Grant
GT sports steering wheel mounted on a tilt column, and it gives you
a clear view to the factory gauges with added Pro Tach prominently
in the center. More upgrades like the full auxiliary readout
package and a B&M Quicksilver shifter all get you ready for
something special under the hood.
The engine bay is ready for primetime. The bold block meets plenty
of shining components, including the Chevrolet valve covers and air
grabber - and it all impresses with such a clean and bright
presentation. There's also plenty of substance behind the style.
This is 350ci crate motor turned into a 383 stroker block. It has
been upgraded further with a Demon four-barrel carburetor,
Edelbrock aluminum intake, and Hooker headers feeding some of the
straightest pipes you're going to find on a dual exhaust. It has
the right supporting pieces, too, like an Optima red top battery,
steel braided lines, and an MSD ignition. The 700R4 four-speed
automatic is an ideal pairing that has a stout construction, and it
also gives you overdrive comfort. And don't forget to check out the
undercarriage photos where the suspension has been fully upgraded
with UMI Performance pieces. This includes tubular front A-arms, an
upgraded four-link rear, and thick sway bars front & rear. Add in
power steering and power brakes with discs up front, and this makes
for an easy way to harness big power.
A first-gen Chevelle Malibu SS always has appeal, but this one
takes it up another level with serious performance upgrades. Don't
miss this deal, call today!
