Vehicle Description
Rare original cars don't come around very often like this 1970
Dodge Charger R/T. There are many reasons to take a close look at
this very rare Charger. This very low mileage, with just over 29000
original miles, is powered by the original numbers matching V-code
440 Cu In V8 with the optional 3x2 bbl carburetors and backed by
the original numbers matching 727 automatic transmission makes this
1 of only 337 Chargers with this configuration. A couple other nice
performance options that this great R/T possessed from factory are
the power front disc brakes, Hemi torsion bars, Hemi rear springs,
4:10:1 Dana 60 rear axle with sure grip, and 26" max cooling
radiator. The only mechanical changes that are reported are the
addition of a Hemi purple cam, and the heads have been ported and
polished, and also have been shaved .004 inch for higher
compression. The original valve covers have been replaced with
chrome covers, but the factory covers are included with the
purchase. The dark burnt orange metallic exterior is in excellent
condition with 1 repaint since new. The chrome and stainless are
also in very good condition. The original vinyl roof is in good
condition showing slight wear. The original vinyl burnt orange
interior is in very good condition. Originally a stripe delete car,
the bumble stripe was added when repainted. It is reported that
only 2 items have been replaced from new which are the head liner
and the drivers seat has been recovered, which the original vinyl
is included in with the car. Nicely optioned with power steering,
power front disc brakes, AM stereo with 8 track, and remote drivers
mirror. The first owner sold it in 1988 to the second owner who
kept the vehicle just the way he bought it and showed it as an
unrestored original. 4 years later he sold it to the current and
3rd owner in 1992. The 3rd owner has taken very good care of this
rare Dodge and only restored as necessary over the past 28 years.
Another item to note is the Bumble bee decals on the rear side
windows were installed when the first owner joined the Scat Pack
club. Included in the sale of this great Charger R/T is the
original owners manual, code break down by Rapid Pack, and an
original broadcast sheet. This is a very rare opportunity to
purchase a very low mileage, numbers matching and original B-Body
Charger.
