Factory Napco 4x4 1 ton. Locking hubs. The original owner, Felix, took delivery of the truck on 7/7/1959, according to the warranty paperwork. The serial number is correct, even the original key is present.
The truck was the town tow truck for the village of Kunesh, a suburb of Green Bay, WI. According to Felix's family, the truck even worked pushing cars at the local race track. After Felix retired 20 years ago, the tow truck arm was removed and he turned the truck into his firewood hauler around his property. The tow truck winch is still there. The original red flashing light and police siren are present. The truck lived its life in his pole barn. Felix regularly spray greased the under carriage. Felix put a 2nd coat of original paint color on the truck sometime in its life.
Felix's family sold me the truck in 2016. Heated garage kept since. I had a machine shop rebuild the original 235 engine. I had the original starter, generator and 4 spd transmission all rebuilt. New aluminum radiator, I have the original radiator. I repainted the firewall and inner fenders. I rewired the truck with factory correct wiring harness. The truck did not have turn signals from the factory. I have installed the turn signal wiring harness, but have not installed turn signals. Rebuilt brakes. New gas tank. Original factory Napco drivetrain is untouched. Cross member has factory rivets. Transfer case floor shifter is original. Original 4 x 4 dashboard sticker.
This truck resembles the iconic blue "Tow Mater" from the movie "Cars". This truck makes people smile. My 14 year old counted 15 thumbs up recently as we drove it around town. I am selling the truck because my wife needs the garage space for her new business. 60 miles on rebuild, just finished. Motivated seller. Located near Crystal Lake, IL.
