Vehicle Description

1970 OLDSMOBILE 442 W30 – VIN M213946  #1726

This striking 1970 442 W30 Holiday Coupe hardtop carries the original and very rare Burgundy Mist paint color with complimenting white W30 accents and black interior.  The 1970 442 W30 model is often claimed to be the pinnacle of Oldsmobile muscle car machine and is recognized by many as one of the top 10 muscle cars of all time.  This car is stunning and an “eye-catcher” in a very unique color that is rarely seen.  I’ve collected and reveled Oldsmobile’s for 30 plus years and have only seen 3 other cars in code 78.

This Lansing Michigan built 442 W-30 has been owned for nearly 12 years by current owner with previous ownership in Seattle where the car was first sold.  This many time award winning 442 W30 was treated to a high-quality restoration.  Awards achieved include a Best of Class at Oldsmobile Zone show and top awards at many regional shows in Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama.  The unusual color and overall quality always draw extra attention.

This Olds 442 W30 retains its matching numbers W30 option 370 hp Rocket 455 engine with “F” code high compression cylinder heads and OW code Turb-Hydromatic 400 Transmission. Other W30 option features for this “Dr. Oldsmobile Muscle Machine” are 4 barrel Quadrajet Carburetor, aluminum intake manifold, red inner front fender liners and W25 cold air induction system with dual intake Force-Air fiberglass hood. An incredibly long list of factory original options on this W-Machine also sets it apart from many others, among the options are C60 air conditioning, U58 AM/FM stereo radio,  W26 floor console with iconic Hurst Dual Gate shifter, D35 dual sport mirrors,  JL2  power front disc brakes, power steering,  U21 Rocket Rally Pac gauges, Tic-Toc-Tach, W-35 rear deck spoiler, A51 Strato bucket seats,  N47 sport steering wheel, N33 Tilt-Away  steering wheel, C50 rear defogger,A01 tinted windows, Y60 convenience lighting package and N66 SS-II wheels with BF Goodrich T/A radial G-70-14 RWL tires.  The G92 rear axle, with G80 required anti spin, with a ratio of 3.42.
