What you're looking at is the highly-desirable 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Two Door Hard Top. The 1956 model year Bel Air received a face-lift with a more conventional full-width grille, pleasing the customers who didn't favor the Ferrari inspired 55 front end. The distinctive two-tone bodyside treatments and graceful front and rear wheel openings completed the "Speedline" restyling sought after in the design house.
This particular 56 Chev is powered by the 283ci V-8 Engine paired with the two-speed power glide automatic transmission. All the chrome/stainless steel was professionally re-plated and is free of pitting having a mirror-like finish. Completely brand new undercarriage, detailed to perfection is both the Trunk and Engine compartments. All-new glass around, all new seals and weather stripping. Equipped with, but not limited to, power front disc brakes, thin whitewall radial tires, complete new correct leather interior, this blue and white interior is in flawless shape. The two tone blue and white paint looks in good shape, having recently gone through re-painting. The looks and acknowledgment received while cruising in this lovely example of a tri-5 is beyond comprehension.
There has been a lot of money spent on this car in restoration work. With the currency exchange, I try to set a pricing point that makes it appealing to a US buyer, I can assure you there is far more value in this car then what is reflected in my asking price. There is no better time to take advantage of a timeless classic like a 56 Bel-Air then now, if there was parity in the dollar I would be asking far more, the 20-30% currency difference creates a win/win situation. I recognize my listing price is on the low end of the range for 56 hard-tops, don't let that alarm you, its under priced as the difference is made up in the exchange rate.
