The 228th out of 943 - 356A T2 Cabriolets produced in late 1959
Normal 1600cc engine (P73314) - matching
Transmission 644 (26539) - matching
According to the Certificate of Authenticity, this Cabriolet was
originally finished in Ivory and the interior color was not
recorded. Options include; Dunlop tires, Boge shocks absorbers,
sealed beam headlights, two tops (a hardtop and a soft top),
original steering wheel with deluxe horn ring, and US overrider
bumpers. This is a very dry and rust-free 356 project, finished in
Signal Red with Beige interior. The paintwork is in very good
condition. The interior is complete with a dash top, front seats,
rear seats, and door panels. However, it will need new carpets and
the soft top to be upholstered. The 356 is not running or driving,
it will need the fuel system to be gone through, brakes to be
rebuilt, and the overall mechanical condition of the engine and
transmission are unknown. Matching number engine (P73314), and
transmission (26539) per Certificate of Authenticity. It is
becoming very difficult to find good Cabriolet projects. This is a
great opportunity to purchase a matching number open 356 needing a
little work at a reasonable entry-level price.
