Vehicle Description
This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL is a premium classic coupe wrapped
around a slick burgundy appearance. And with the awesome interior
and muscular V8, it's an impressive total package that's ready to
hit the streets right now.
The factory-correct Vintage Burgundy is the ideal color for a
premium and powerful classic like this. It seems to give you some
of the boldness of red but in a deeper and more sophisticated tone.
Its impressiveness is also aided by a quality respray so that it
has a terrific gloss and shine every time the sunlight hits the
bold color. We love a good pillarless hardtop body, because it
helps reinforce the top-of-the-line 500 XL trim. And while the
lines of it were developed to give these a better profile for
NASCAR aerodynamics, all the trim was still inspired by the jet
age. This includes the chrome fins on the front fender and the
afterburner taillights on the very tidy rear end. And we especially
love the sweeping side trim. It's bright and quality package that
helps show off the straightness of the sheetmetal. And the
outstanding shine continues on the bumpers, full trim, and 17-inch
polished wheels.
Inside, the worlds of performance and premium are merged together
expertly. They made a solid investment in restoring the
factory-correct white package to make sure it looks fresh and
vibrant. The range-topping XL line meant front bucket seats and a
stylish center console in-between. As Ford's full-sized offering,
there's plenty of room to carry family and friends along for the
ride, but even when it's just you, this Galaxie coupe excites. The
driver gets the original premium chrome ring wheel. Beyond that is
the wide gauge cluster that spans nearly half the dash. It includes
a massively long speedometer flanked by two barrel-style gauge
clusters. Plus, there's a cleanly installed auxiliary readout trio
and a driver-facing tach. It's these kinds of upgrades that really
reinforce the feeling of a driver's classic.
Under the hood is a very tidy look to a large and shining V8. This
is a 1964-correct FE block dressed to be correct for this Z-code
Galaxie. Yes, you read that right, this is a Z-code car. And so it
lives up to that powerful reputation today with upgrades like a
Holley four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. And the H-pipe
dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers gives this a nice V8 tune.
There's also the cruise-o-matic three-speed automatic transmission,
power steering, rear air shocks, wide Tiger Paw tires, and upgraded
power brakes with front discs. It's all part of a package to give
you a powerful coupe that still has an executive-class feel.
We really love everything about this Galaxie 500 XL, even the fact
that it was built locally at Ford's Atlanta plant. It's premium,
powerful, and sleek. So if you really want a head-turning hardtop,
call today!
