When I bought the car it needed many areas addressed and sorted out to be updated/revised to what I was looking for. It needed some typical things to make it right but it also needed some special things to set it apart from other 61’s. In order to do this, I sent the car to Street Metal Concepts in Sanford, FL.
SMC performed all the work and delivered to me a car that not only was a strong cruiser that you can take anywhere, but also one with some subtle custom touches that make the car unique.
You’ll see from the list below that there was quite a bit of parts and labor and effort put into this car to make it what it is today.
The coolest feature; the car seat anchors!! I have a 2 year daughter who is a Gearhead so I asked SMC to fabricate car seat anchors so my daughter can go with me anytime. They are removable if you wanted but the fact that they are there, is COOL!
The car is fully sorted out and I drive it everywhere. I wanted a car that not only looked good but also one that I can get in, turn the key, and just DRIVE! That is exactly what SMC did for me. This car is a great revised DRIVER! The car runs at 180 degrees down the highway and revs at 2,000 RPM cruising at 70 MPH. The air blows cold, (sorted out the vintage air system and rerouted vents and ducting).
The list of items below is a snap shot of what has been done since I took ownership. I for sure am missing things but hopefully this gives you an idea of the time, effort and cost that has been invested in this car to get it where it is today.
