The second year of the "square bird" saw lots of sales as it was
now a 4 seater and people found this more appealing than the
mini-birds of 55 to 57. The 1959 had a few small changes from the
1958 Model but was a great looking car all around. This particular
car came with the 352 V-8 with an automatic transmission. Nice
accessories such as power steering and power brakes make this
Thunderbird a joy to drive. Also ordered with this car were power
windows and power assist convertible canvas top. This is a nice
entry level car that one can enjoy as is or with a few improvements
bring it to the next level. With a little over 10,000 convertibles
produced in 1959 you don't see that many left. Bucket seats and
center console give the car a rather sporty look. To complete the
look wide whitewall radials with factory wire wheel covers
completes the deal. Come on down to Ellingson Motorcars and take a
look. A nice entry level car and a rare one at that!
