1985 SVO Mustang
In good/great mechanical shape, almost no rust - a small spot in the passenger rear fender. My son has been driving this to and from school (3-4 miles each way) and work 15 miles each way for a couple of years now. We had to replace the entire fuel system as it sat for 10+ years before we bought it. New fuel tank, new fuel pump, new injectors aftermarket and EXPENSIVE, etc. The turbo seals started leaking about a year in - installed a new turbo. It runs great/very strong. We had to go through the brakes as well - the rears were locked up. New master cylinder, new rotors, new calipers and I think we did the rubber lines too ... can't remember.
My son completely gutted the interior and cleaned it. New headliner. He also repainted all the interior surfaces - it quite frankly looks better then new. We replaced all of the door seals, sunroof seal, etc. Fixed the fuel door latch in the glove box and the real hatch release mechanism. Changed out the hatch cylinders. Changed the alternator. We haven't messed with the A/C unit but assume it's OK - it's all there. Also installed two good OEM tail light lenses - both were cracked. The rear spoiler is OK ... not great but OK. We do have the rear hatch roll out cover. The tires are about three years old ... maybe 5000 miles on them.
I'd feel comfortable jumping in this car and driving it coast to coast ... it's now 100% reliable.
The paint is not good ... it's bad. The car was previously owned by a body shop guy before us. Typical body shop situation ... his car got worked on last. It has the original black paint on it, then he painted it red then back to black like two weeks later. His wife said he hated the red and repainted it two weeks later!? Anyway the paint is at least 1/8" thick or better as he never fully stripped of the original layers. The back bumper cover has a crack/is broken on the passenger side corner - contact with another car in my driveway ... aaaaaargh.
Won't take less than $6000 for it ... I have over $7000 into it.
WILL LOAD ON TRUCK OR TRAILER IF IT NEEDS TO BE SHIPPED. SHIPPING IS THE BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY.
