1945 Ford Three-Window Rat Rod Pickup
Car History
Adventure Classics has a custom 1940-45 Ford Three-Window Rat Rod
Pickup for sale that is fun, quick, and very affordable.
The modern definition of a "rat rod" is a custom car or truck with
a deliberately worn-down, unfinished appearance, typically lacking
paint, showing rust, and made from an assortment of parts. A rat
rod may or may not have extraneous decorations, but will always
exude a great deal of personality due to the imagination required
of the builder.
An alternate definition of a "rat rod" is a style of hot rod or
custom car that, in most cases, imitates or exaggerates the early
hot rods of the 1940s, 1950s, and early 1960s. The style is not to
be confused with the somewhat closely related "traditional" hot
rod, which is an accurate re-creation or period-correct restoration
of a hot rod from the same era.
Engine & Drivetrain
In 1945 the war was won and factories had returned to what they do
best, manufacturing automobiles. Ours is a one-off custom-built
truck that will be fun to cruise in and be sure to garner attention
where ever it goes.
Our 1940-45 is powered by a freshly built 350 cubic inch small
block Chevy engine and looks right at home which sure to draws a
crowd when it fires up and you hear the funny car style tube
headers. It has an aluminum intake, Holley performance carb
Edelbrock valve covers, polished air cleaner scoop, aluminum fan
shroud, air conditioning, and more.
It transfers the power to a Turbo 350 3-speed automatic
transmission and a Ford 9-inch four link rear end with a front
independent coil over suspension all bolted to a 1932 frame.
Interior
The interior of the truck is simple with the grey tweed seating and
black painted dash, door panels, and floor. It features a polished
tilt steering wheel, performance Dolphin gauges, 3-spoke sport
steering wheel, and the Air Conditioning.
Exterior
The overall look is simple, just as a Rat Rod is supposed to look
like. It is menacing as it is coming down the road with its white
patina paint on the cab and wood in the bed as well as the polished
aluminum wheels with black center caps and black wall performance
tires.
