For Sale: 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Only 1,600 miles on a body off frame restoration. I drove this car home and it is right. My brother drove it for a weekend, also was very impressed. Functions as good as it looks. At 65 mph, let go of the wheel and it goes straight.

EXTERIOR: Stunning color combination. The Hugger Orange with the SS stripes down each side is really an attention getter. The body is completely straight and smooth, even along the bottoms. There's no bubbles, spot-welds on the rockers are still clean. It was taken apart to be painted. The paint has been polished out very glossy. It looks like all the chrome has been replaced including the bumpers, tail lights, door handles, mirror, emblems, marker lights. The front bumper has a few minor imperfections. The grill and trim has been replaced. The door jambs are painted real nicely, has new weatherstrips, window seals and sill plates. Bottom door lip is clean. White convertible top is in excellent condition. It goes up easily, fits nicely to the windows. The SS wheels have been restored, windshield is replaced.**Brand new BF Goodrich tires and a front end alignment have been done since these pictures were taken.

INTERIOR: Inside the car has been completely reupholstered including the seats, door panels and armrests. Carpet was replaced. The dash area is excellent. It has the factory gauge cluster with tachometer and a clock. The dash pad, instrument bezel, heater control panel look great. It has retro stereo and new speakers in the dash. The mirror and visors look new. It has GM seat belts front and back. The plastic seat backs and headrests are original, they've been resprayed. All the chrome trim on the seats has been replaced. It has new console with horseshoe shifter. The white upholstery stays cool too with top down.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a 1970 Chevelle 396 motor, marked hi perf. on the side. Rebuilt with a little hotter cam and a bigger Holley carb. Has stock manifolds, brand new chrome valve covers and air cleaner with the stickers on them. The engine bay is all detailed, inner fenders are gloss black. Bottom of the hood is gloss orange and has the insulation. All the metal surfaces have a smooth painted finish. Everything looks proper- the pulleys are aligned, battery is bolted down, new wiper motor. It features power steering and brakes. New cadmium plated booster and new master cylinder. The wiring, horns, steering components look new. The cowl has it's rubber seal, the plastic grill inserts and squirters are hooked up. Runs cool with an aluminum radiator, new shroud and fan. There was not a bolt left un-turned.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: All clean metal, no rust at all. It has been neatly spatter painted. The spare and jack assembly are detailed and bolted down properly. Bottom of the trunk lid is gloss orange, has the reproduction stickers. The jamb is glossy and has new weatherstrip.

UNDERSIDE: It was frame off restored. The chassis was taken apart, prepped painted and the mechanical s were replaced or rebuilt. Upfront the bushings, ball-joints, shocks were replaced. Has front and rear sway bars. Bottom of the motor is still clean. Fuel pump and starter look fresh. The Turbo 400 automatic was rebuilt. The driveshaft is gloss black and has factory markings. Has a 12 bolt rear end in back with 3.08 cruising gears. New fuel system-tank, straps with insulators, sending unit and fuel lines. Brakes were redone, has disc in front. The e-brake cables, brake lines and hoses were replaced. The exhaust is new with great sounding Flowmaster mufflers. The metal is real clean and dry. The seams, drain holes, inner rockers are dry. The floors are a smooth semi gloss black.

This car is a pleasure to look at and to drive. Restored much better then most. Great colors, you will get more thumbs up then you can count!
