Their first major redesign after WWII, the new GM Advanced Design
trucks were an instant hit with a public who were desperate for new
automobiles. Hitting the market in 1947, the trucks were built with
minimal changes until 1955. Sold in 3100, 3600, and 3800, these ,
, and 1 ton trucks were durable and available in multitudes of
configurations. A range of inline 6 cylinder engines were available
as well.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this gorgeous 1950 3100 for
your consideration. This truck is absolutely beautiful, courtesy of
a complete restoration in 2019. The truck is powered by a GM 350v8
crate motor with 540 miles on it mated to an automatic TH 400
transmission with a 12 volt system. Other highlights include new
tinted glass, new upholstery, 4 wheel disc brakes with dual master
cylinders, new steel brake lines, electric wipers, new chrome
bumpers, new chrome grill, new aluminum radiator, power steering,
vintage air heater, black walnut bed wood, all new box, all steel
body, new running boards, new tires and new chrome wheels. The
truck is finished in Sour Apple metallic and shows exceptionally
well. The truck comes with a binder of receipts and photos of the
restoration.
