Vehicle Description
Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 21st year in the
classic and muscle car business. For the 1962 model year Ford moved
its Fairlane models to their new intermediate range that was
positioned between the compact Falcon and the full-sized Galaxie.
Ford had correctly anticipated the burgeoning youth market and
Chevrolet scrambled to bring its new intermediate, the Chevelle, to
market by 1964. These new mid-sized models sold well, offering more
agility and lower prices than the full-sized cars and more room and
better performance than the compacts. Our clean Medium Turquoise
Metallic (U) 1966 Fairlane XL Convertible is an exceptionally nice
example of the breed and, to my eye, the most cleanly styled. This
nicely equipped jewel is sporting power steering, power brakes,
power convertible top, 289 Challenger V8 ( C ), C4 automatic
transmission (6), console with floor shift, bucket seats, 2.80 rear
axle ratio (6), dual exhaust, correct Aqua trim (87), factory AM
radio, and dual sport mirrors. According to the previous owner this
cream puff has resided only in California, Arizona, and Texas
which, with a Los Angeles DSO and nearly perfect original floor
pans (see images), seems likely. Our charming chariot has good
chrome, paint, trim, stainless steel, and upholstery. There are two
cracks in the dash and the carpet is showing some fading, but this
otherwise outstanding convertible is easy and fun to drive, the
tall gearing allowing effortless highway cruising. Ray-Bans and
sunscreen not included! Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full
service dealership that can assist with worldwide delivery,
insurance, and financing options.
