The drivetrain, including the legendary Cummins 6BT engine in its first year as a light truck motor, came from a low mileage 1989 Dodge donor truck. This nearly indestructible powerplant is credited by many with saving the Dodge truck line from extinction. With the exception of the core support and the tailgate, all of the body panels are original and ALL have been completely disassembled and painted or coated with bed liner ON BOTH SIDES (cab, bed, firewall, fenders, etc.). Sources for the top-shelf components include High Angle Driveline, Superlift Suspension, Borgeson, KYB, and Buckstop Truckware. Since nothing has been chopped or welded, all of the lifting hardware can be removed and the truck returned to its stock ride height. Additional features include power steering, power front disc brakes, a custom Vintage Air A/C system with oversized condenser, automatic transmission, AMP Research PowerStep electric-powered and lighted running boards, new carpet with extra padding, fresh upholstery, and an AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo with Bluetooth capability.
