Vehicle Description
There's just something great about the 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass
coupe. They have one of the best designs of the era from a GM
division that provided both speed and luxury. This affordable coupe
has nice extras everywhere from the contrasting vinyl top to extra
V8 power under the hood.
This coupe has a deep shine that comes from a more modern
application of the custom Sunset Red. There's a nice metallic
element that lets the sunshine really radiate off the
super-straight sheetmetal. It has the look of care, and we can
understand exactly why it earns this kind of attention and
investment. 1972 was the last year for this generation of Cutlass.
It's arguably the sleekest design that came from Oldsmobile with
the fastback-style roof, flared rear fenders, and chrome bumper
that love to hug the car's form. These Cutlass coupes knew how to
artfully blend premium and sporty. This one really shows it with
the luxury-style white vinyl roof blending with the large dual
exhaust tips and polished Cragar-style wheels (with extra meaty
rubber in the rear.)
The interior is all about offering a comfortable cruiser. That's
why the carpeting, headliner, and two rows of wide cloth bench
seats all have a well-done look and feel. It also still gives you
the right vintage vibes, from the button-top pattern on the door
panels to the wood trim of the dash. This does appear to be a
factory air conditioning car, but it will need most major
components to be fully functional again. The updated sports
steering wheel and AM/FM digital tuner with cassette make it easy
to enjoy this Olds more modern times. So you know you just want to
roll down the windows on this pillarless hardtop and go for an
all-day Sunday drive.
The engine bay has some added flair with color-matched accessories
and some polished components. But the part you'll like the most is
knowing that you have a true Olds 350 V8 under the hood. Oldsmobile
manufactured their own V8 engines during this era, and they have
proven to be some of the sturdiest ones out there. This one even
has nice upgrades like steel braided lines, and AN fittings. Plus,
it's upgraded for added performance with an Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor and an Edelbrock Performer 350 Olds intake. It makes for
a total package that runs strong and makes a nice rumble from the
dual exhaust. The TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, power
steering, and power brakes round out a great total driving
package.
