Do you like to have fun? Well you will have it in spades in this sweet little 1921 Willys-Overland Touring Rat Rod. If you have ever desired to have an old car that gets better with age and use, this is it!
Powered by a rebuilt 1966 327 CID V-8 mated to a rebuilt TH350 three-speed automatic transmission, this all steel, 3-inch widened Touring Car has plenty of get up and go. Its 9” Ford rear end hits the sweet spot in gearing—with plenty of off the line oomph, and the ability to cruise comfortably on the highway at 70 miles per hour. Other mechanical specs and upgrades include the following:
Having just 9,000 miles since the powertrain was rebuilt, this rat rod has been driven on several long-distance trips with confidence.
In addition to its reliable powertrain, you will also appreciate the safety afforded by its front seat belts, high and low beam headlamps, rear-mounted center brake light, emergency brake, and turn signals. In addition, its full complement of VDO gauges—neatly housed in an oak panel on the dash board—will keep you fully informed about what’s going on under the hood.
Other features that will catch your eye include the “Big Boy” motif painted on the spare tire cover and the original wooden steering wheel. Open the hood and you’ll find a toy rat atop an Oldsmobile 98 hubcap-crowned air cleaner—sure to get a chuckle at the car shows and cruise-ins.
Created and enjoyed by the most recent owner for many years, a full album of pictures from the build will be included with sale.
If you’re ready to feel the wind in your hair and a smile on your face, this little rat rod will do just the trick!
