This 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS (chassis #08038) was manufactured in April 1974 and sold new to a Dr. Sternberg of St. Charles, Illinois. The car is one of 628 US-spec GTS models built between 1969 and 1974 and was equipped from the factory with power windows and air conditioning. The numbers-matching 2.4-liter DOHC V6 is coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and the previous owner has added approximately 30k of the 60k indicated miles since acquiring the car 19 years ago. It won several awards at local concours d’elegance and club meets and has also been repainted in black back in the early 1990’s. Originally finished in Blu Dino Metallizzato, the Pininfarina-styled body was repainted black by a previous owner. The removable targa top is also finished in black, and the car retains US-spec side markers and rear reflectors. A prancing horse badge is present out back.
This Dino is powered by Type 135 CS engine #0011995, which matches the Marcel Massini report and is original to the car.

A 3-spoke steering wheel with a yellow Dino horn button fronts Veglia Borletti instrumentation, which includes a 170-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and a 5-digit odometer showing 60k miles. Approximately 30k miles have been added under previous ownership while under our ownership the car has seen about 400 miles. Compression test shows all cylinders between 160-170.
The mid-mounted 2.4-liter DOHC V6 sends power to the rear wheels through a dogleg 5-speed manual gearbox. A new radiator was installed in 2018, and a service was also completed by the specialist in 2018. Additional work performed under current ownership is detailed on available receipts as well as records from previous owner.
