Vehicle Description
Thank goodness, the muscle car wars are alive again! For 30 years,
they sat dormant, leaving car enthusiasts with only a few options.
Not since John DeLorean instructed Pontiac to stuff a big motor in
a little GTO in 1964 has an automaker made such a bold move to
offer raw horsepower as Dodge's Challenger SRT Hellcat introduced
in 2015.
As Ford and Chevy tinkered around with retro-styling and handling
performance, Dodge swung for the fences with the Hellcat and went
for straight-up raw horsepower - the other two have been playing
catch up ever since. The primary reason is the Hellcat's
supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 pumping out an astounding 707hp and
650 lb-ft of torque. That means a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds with an
11.2-second quarter-mile - straight from the factory!
This particular 2016 Challenger SRT Hellcat was born and raised
right here in the South and is a beautiful, one-owner example of
modern muscle. It has everything you'd ever want in a
fully-optioned machine. With 707hp at the ready, there is nothing
like a six-speed manual gearbox to enhance the road-driving
experience. Rowing gears is still the ultimate way to connect with
the Pirelli tires mounted on 20 x 9.5-inch SRT Brass Monkey forged
wheels.
The great part is that Dodge makes sure you are safe by equipping
the Hellcat with all the modern safety amenities. The list is long:
adaptive suspension, four-wheel independent suspension,
speed-sensing steering, traction control, four-wheel ABS disc
brakes, anti-whiplash front head restraints, dual front- and
side-impact airbags, overhead airbag, emergency communication
system, front and rear anti-roll bar, low tire pressure warning,
brake assist, electronic stability control, blind-spot sensor,
park-view rear back-up camera and sensors, and even auto-dimming
high-beam headlights.
Inside, the Hellcat has all the interior creature comforts a
discerning car enthusiast would want or need. Remote keyless entry
illuminates the interior as you slide into the significantly
bolstered SRT-logo-embossed Laguna Performance seats. A
well-planned cockpit greets you with a navigation system
incorporating the 18-speaker Harmon Kardon AM/FM/SiriusXM radio
with steering-wheel-mounted controls. This 'cat is loaded with
power everything: steering, windows, and driver's seat. It even has
heated seats, side-view mirrors, and steering wheel for
cold-weather driving. Dual-climate zones provide adjustability
should you decide to open the sunroof.
This Hellcat has been well taken care of, and it shows. With only
4,000 miles showing on the odometer, it's obvious it hasn't been
used as a primary driver. Knowing the owner, we're confident it
hasn't been abused either. Aside from one or two little rock chips,
it looks showroom fresh and is ready to roll as soon as you pick it
up! Come by the Art & Speed showroom and check this one out before
it's gone because we're sure it won't stay long!
