Pontiacs wildly successful Le Mans-based GTO featured careful
styling updates and numerous functional updates underneath. It also
continued for the second model year as a unique Pontiac series.
Engines were upsized for 67 to 400 CI with a 335-HP unit standard
and 255-HP economy unit optional, plus the 360-HP 400 HO (High
Output) option. All-out performance came with the rare (751 built),
new-for-1967 Ram Air option featuring special cylinder heads and a
special high-lift camshaft, high-flow exhaust manifolds, and
functional Ram Air air cleaner assembly. A choice of close-ratio
4-speed manual or Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmissions was
available for Ram Air cars, with a heavy duty Safe-T-Track rear end
delivering the power with a dragstrip-worthy 4.33:1 axle ratio. A
fully integrated high-performance car with class, image, and the
substance underneath to back it all up, the GTO sparked competitors
from virtually all American makes, yet outsold them all once again
for 1967. Documented by PHS Automotive Services, this stunning
Pontiac GTO is the only one produced for 1967 with Starlight Black
paint over Black upholstery and powered by the ultimate 400 CI Ram
Air V-8 engine mated to a close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission.
The GTO was built at the Framingham, Massachusetts GM Assembly
Plant and then shipped to Cross Country Motors in Port Chester, New
York, with factory options including a Cordova top, power brakes
and steering, power windows, a push-button AM radio, a rear-center
lap belt, Rally Gauge package including tachometer, Soft Ray tinted
glass all around, the $3.74 Ride & Handling Package, and HD
Saf-T-Track limited slip differential. As offered, this amazing GTO
benefits from a concours-quality restoration to OEM specifications,
with a thorough review and detailing process just completed at The
Last Detail. In addition to a full spare wheel/tire and roadside
jack, this stellar Ram Air/4-speed 1967 Pontiac GTO comes with the
