1963 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe!
There's something about a 63 Impala Sport Coupe that just has a
universal appeal as being one of the all time 60's Chevy icons- we
recently took this car to a local show and it got bushels of
attention- it just seemed to draw people to it. Maybe it's the
white over red color combination, maybe it's the postless coupe
look, maybe it's the timeless redlines with the SS wheel covers....
whatever it is it just attracts a crowd anywhere it is.
When we bought this car the previous owner (a dealer) kinda told us
the truth. We, like everyone else out there, rely on the seller's
word that what he is telling us is the truth. In this case, when we
got the car, we were a little disappointed. It happens. Let me say
on behalf of Sunnyside Sports, Muscle and Classics that we NEVER
want that for someone buying a car from us. So, we went to work
making this a car we are proud to represent.
What did we do, you ask? Simple. We rebuilt the original carb on
what we believe to be the original 283. We put correct redline
tires on the car. We went through the brakes and changed the
fluids. We put a correct dual exhaust on her (really nice exhaust
note). We put new springs and shocks on all four corners. We did
some minor metal work underneath (nothing structural, just
something we thought should be done for the next owner. We got a
new dash pad and installed it (the old one was cracked). Now, just
a few thousand dollars later, we have a car we are proud to
represent.
Here's what we know- the cowl tag tells us this is a real Impala V8
Sport Coupe. It was built in Tarrytown NY. The paint code is 936-
Ermine white and the 875 Interior code is red. We believe this is a
real SS car with its factory installed interior. It's really nice
with buckets and powerglide on the floor. This Impala is a joy to
cruise in and performs exactly as one would expect. The paint is
nice driver quality and the car is overall a very nice local car
show cruiser. Looking for Pebble Beach- that's 75K, looking for a
race car, nope not here. Looking for the classic Chevy that draws a
crowd of gawkers- Yep, this is the one.
Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized
possession, the choice is yours once you make it yours.
We stand behind our thoughts on this car by offering our travel
expenses guarantee- come see the car and if we have materially
misrepresented its condition we will gladly pay half of your travel
expenses up to $500.00- this offer had been in place since we sold
our first classic and we haven't paid the money yet.... We pride
