The J-268 was shipped to Japan in 1929 as a rolling chassis only and did not have a permanent body built for it until 1958 when it was purchased by a US serviceman stationed there. It was shipped to Landstuhl Germany in 1958 where the body was built and fitted to the chassis #2290. Ray Wolfe, the noted Duesenberg historian, quoted J-268 as being the last Duesenberg bodied. Boxes of provenance are available for interested buyers.
