1955 Lotus MK9 Sebring Car (No model listing available for an MK9 on the drop down menu)
This MK9 was one of the first two built for the Sebring 12 Hour race in 1955.
There were two Mark Nines at the 1955 Sebring 12 Hours. Race number 79 was driven by Frank Miller/George Rabe, and race number 78 by Norman Scott/Sam Samuelson (but was owned by Bobby Burns of Wichita Falls, Texas). We don’t know the chassis numbers of these 2 cars, so for convenience Historic Lotus Register refers to the Frank Miller car as “Sebring 1”, and the Bobby Burns car as “Sebring 2”.Continuous ownership history.
